Drug Uses
Actonel used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in some patients. It can also be used in other circumstances, which are determined by a doctor.
As Taken
Using Actonel at the direction of a doctor.
Choose 2 days a month to take Actonel. Take 1 tablet on the morning of the first day. Take the second tablet on the morning of the next day.
Do not take more than 2 Actonel tablets per month, if your doctor tells you otherwise.
Actonel Swallow whole. Do not break, crush, chew or suck on the tablet before swallowing.
Take Actonel with a full glass of water simple (6 to 8 oz/180 to 240 ml). Do not take Actonel with mineral water, coffee, tea, milk or juice. Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking Actonel and until you eat your food in the first day.

Continue to take Actonel, even if you feel fine. Do not miss any doses.

Drugs and the mechanism of class
Actonel is a bisphosphonate. She works at slowing the loss of bone.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose of Actonel, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Warnings / Precautions
Do not use Actonel if:

Actonel can cause dizziness. This effect can be even worse if it is considered to alcohol or certain medications. Actonel Use with caution. Do not drive or perform other, possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
Talk to your doctor before drinking alcohol, smoking or using other tobacco products, taking Actonel.
Follow a diet and exercise program, taking into account your health care. Talk with your doctor about the need to take calcium and vitamin D supplements, and you use Actonel.
Talk with your doctor about the use of weight-bearing exercise to help prevent weak bones.
The importance of dental care is important while you are using Actonel. Brush and floss your teeth and visit the dentist regularly.
Let your doctor or dentist that you Actonel before you get any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
Actonel may interfere in some lab tests. Be sure your doctor and laboratory personnel know you are taking Actonel.
Laboratory tests, including bone density and blood calcium levels, can be done while you are using Actonel. These tests can be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Remember to keep all doctor and cabinet appointments.
Actonel should be used with extreme caution in children, the safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: If you are pregnant, consult a doctor. You need to discuss the advantages and risks Actonel use while you are pregnant. It is not known if Actonel is in the milk. Do not feed, taking Actonel.
Possible side effects
Check with your physician if any of them are the most common side effects persist or become bothersome:
back pain, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, gas, headache, joint pain, stomach pain or mild upset, nausea.
Please seek medical attention immediately if any of these serious side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (hives, rashes, itching, shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips or tongue), black, tarry stools or bloody, chest pain, coughing or vomiting blood, difficult or painful swallowing, mouth ulcers ; new, worsening, or severe heartburn, difficult or painful urination, sensitivity to light, severe bone, muscle or joint pain, severe or persistent sore throat or stomach pain; tumor on his arms or legs; swelling or pain in your jaw; unusual eye pain or redness; vision changes.
