Clomid is used for the treatment of female infertility and certain conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Taken

Properly timed sexual intercourse is important for a good result. Ovulation usually occurs 5 to 10 days after a dose of Clomid.
Drug class and mechanism
Clomid is a stimulant ovulatory. It works by helping to produce more hormones that cause the ovaries to release 1 or more eggs.

Warnings / precautions
Do not use Clomid if:
Are you allergic to any ingredient in Clomid;
You are pregnant;
You have vaginal bleeding;

Do you have or have ever had blockage of blood vessels (blood clots) in the legs, lungs or other parts of the body;
You have liver problems, uncontrolled thyroid or adrenal gland problems, or brain damage (eg pituitary gland tumor).

Important:
Do not drive or perform other tasks possibly dangerous until you know how you react to it.
Enlargement of the ovaries can occur during or soon after taking Clomid. Call your provider of care if you have any stomach or pelvic pain, weight gain, pain or discomfort in the stomach or enlargement, taking Clomid.
Pregnancy with more than 1 fetus (eg twins) is possible while taking Clomid. Make sure that you discussed the possible complications and risks of multiple pregnancy;
Lab tests, including pregnancy tests, can be performed while you use Clomid. These tests can be used to control the disease and to note the side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and laboratory appointments.
Clomid Use with caution in elderly patients, who may be more sensitive to its effects.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding Clomid not use if you are pregnant. Avoid become pregnant while taking it. If you think you may be pregnant, see your doctor immediately. It is not known whether Clomid is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Clomid.
Possible side effects
Talk to your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome:
Vision blurred vision or problems (spots or flashes), breast tenderness, dizziness, enlarged breasts; enlargement of the ovaries, flushing, headaches, hot flashes, lightheadedness; mood change, nausea, swelling or pelvic pain, stomach pain, vomiting.
Seek medical attention immediately if any of these serious side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips or tongue) increased risk of cancer of the ovaries, for the stimulation of the ovaries, spontaneous abortion.
